About the service

Beyond Horizons Therapy Services is based in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. Dedicated to offering a compassionate, understanding and effective alternative to mainstream therapies by making use of the valuable resources available around us.

My name is Jim, I am a dad, husband and carer. I have 2 sons, one living in Wales, the other, in his mid-20’s has Down Syndrome and lives at home. I am an Armed Forces Veteran I served in the Royal Air Force working very closely with other services before leaving to work on a UK Government defence contract overseas.

On returning home I dabbled in sales and retail management before figuring out that retail, though really interesting, was not for me. I wanted the challenge of being able to speak to people and offer support and to be able to increase my skills and knowledge.

I decided to return to education and went on to complete a an Honours Degree in Mental Health Nursing at the University of East Anglia before going on to work for almost a decade and a half years in the NHS as a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Over the years I have gained extensive expertise working in the community with individuals who require support or guidance due to various changes and challenges with their mental health.

More recently, my focus has been on supporting neurodiverse young people, school-aged children, and their families, helping them navigate complex experiences.

I firmly believe that everyone deserves timely access to therapies that are tailored to meet their unique needs, ensuring the best possible outcomes for their wellbeing.
